Developing tidal turbines further at KAAP
Tocardo develops turbines that generate electricity from tidal currents. In the openings of the Oosterscheldekering the technology runs on the largest tidal range in the Netherlands; at KAAP it is measured and improved.

Energy from the tide
Twice a day the Oosterschelde fills and empties. That movement is free, clean and entirely predictable. Tocardo turbines capture this flow and convert it into electricity.
Proven at the barrier
At Neeltje Jans, five turbines hung for years in the openings of the Oosterscheldekering, one of the largest tidal power stations in the world.
Further development at KAAP
After every measurement period, a turbine comes to the workshop at KAAP. There, engineers and students study how the blades wear in salt water.

Testing and demonstrating inspection drones
Terra Inspectioneering builds drones that inspect storage tanks, chimneys and bridges from the inside, so nobody has to climb to height. In the development and demo space at KAAP they test new technology, show it to clients and train their pilots.
