Bring your water innovation to life
Zeeland lives with water. Innovatiepunt KAAP strengthens the maritime sector and water technology.
Safe, smart and sustainable with water
Zeeland is a water province through and through: from the Westerschelde to the Oosterschelde, from fresh to salt. Knowledge and innovation networks here join forces on flood safety, water quality and generating sustainable energy from water. Companies, education and research institutes work together on practical innovations that can scale up nationally.

What we work on within water
Pick the subject that comes closest to your own. It shows what is running, where you can work on it and who to contact.
- Inspection with drones and robots Inspecting a turbine blade or a quay wall without sending anyone up. The setups for that are built and demonstrated here.
- Energy from tides and currents Zeeland has tides, currents and locks. Turbines that harvest energy from them are tested here, right where the water actually flows.
- Seaweed and saline crops In Zeeland, salt water is not a problem but a raw material. From seaweed to shellfish and crops that tolerate salt.
- Fresh water and water quality Fresh water is scarce in a delta. Measuring, purifying and reusing it is daily practice here, not theory.
